iCal and iCloud issues

I'm having problems syncing my iCal up with my iCloud Calendar. I can see my shared calendars in the iCloud list in iCal but when I click on them to check the box the information doesn't populate in the calendar. Please help!!!

MacBook Pro 15", macOS 10.12
