Windows 10 black screen after wake!

This happens often, and it's really annoying.

After some minutes of inactivity, Windows 10 puts MacBook Pro screen in sleep mode.

But, after wake, I can see the touchbar active, while the screen remains black, and there's no way to wake it, if not rebooting.

Is there a fix or a workaround for this?

Create a Windows System Restore point and Update AMD graphics drivers for Windows in Boot Camp - Apple Support, if necessary.

If the standard AMD drivers do not work, try the drivers from bootcampdrivers.com.

Hi Marco,

Have a look at this thread https://discussions.apple.com/thread/250268973?page=1

perhaps there is a connection. I mainly had BSOD's connected to the "Apple Audio Device" but I believe I experienced the issue you described at least 2 times as well (in a very short period of time). Now after deactivating the "Apple Audio Device" in the win 10 device manager, I have not had any issues anymore in almost a week.

Would be intresting to test if you see any improvement if you deactivate the "Apple Audio Device" temporarily.

Ok. After few days of tries I understood that it's a Graphic Driver (AMD Vega 20) crash.

I tried to temporarily disable Ibernation, leaving auto screen sleep after 5min on, and that's when the crash happens: while the GPU is under working load and I wake the screen after inactivity.

Unfortunately MacBook Pro 2018 drivers had never received an official update (yet).

Try Apple Software Update.

Wondering if bootcampdrivers.com just tweaks graphic performance or does graphic related bug fixing too...

It should have bug fixes, too.
