Synchronising Ipod nanos with Itunes

We are having problems synchronizing our IPOD Nanos with Itunes. We have downloaded new songs and created a new playlist and these simply will not synchronise. Any ideas?

You cannot sync anything that is in the cloud or comes via an Apple Music subscription with an iPod nano. Assuming that isn't the problem check your sync selections. See Sync your iPhone, iPad, or iPod using iTunes on your computer - Apple Support.
