AOL Password Required: Keep getting popup on iMac that I need to enter password for Internet Accounts. I hit "continue" and enter the correct password, but it keeps saying it's invalid. I've tried restarting the computer in the past and it's gone away. However, it recently started up again, and restarting the Mac no longer works. Any ideas?

What you're seeing matches my experience with AOL. I've tussled with this for years with a couple of folks that still use that mail provider, and the AOL mail servers and the AOL user authentication just doesn't seem all that stable.

Your password is probably fine, and AOL is probably just confused. Try again in a few hours, or try again tomorrow. This unless you tried to re-enter it and didn't get that right, and which is what has clobbered more than a few folks presented with that dialog.

Here's the troubleshooting documentation:

Start with the Connection Doctor. But it wouldn't surprise me that AOL has just gone walkabout.
