My Card notes gone missing
I kept some important information in Notes field on my own iPhone contact (My Card). Sometime during the past month or so, the Notes field has gone blank. Is there any way to recover the missing information? I posted this question earlier (January 18, 2019) and received the following helpful response from MichaelB2019. Unfortunately, this forum doesn't allow me to reply to that message so I'm back here again.
I've tried logging into iCloud but the notes part is blank there too. I have checked 3rd party (gmail, Outlook) contacts as well but there is no information there.
Beside changing my iPhone, I am also now using a different iCloud account (family shared) to do my backups. How do I check into my personal iCloud account for previous backups?
"Thank you for posting you question in Apple Support Communities! It sounds like you have lost some information from the notes field on your Contacts cards. I am happy to help.
If you were using iCloud Contacts, you can check iCloud.com to see if the notes are stored there. If you are unsure if you were using iCloud Contacts, you can go into Settings > [your name] > iCloud, then see if Contacts is switched on. You’ll see your Contacts on all of your Apple devices that you’re signed in to with the same Apple ID.
If you were using iCloud, you can try restoring an earlier version of the Contacts to recover the notes.
See this article for more information on doing that:
If you accidentally deleted your calendars, reminders, bookmarks, or contacts from iCloud
There is a possibility the Contacts were syncing with a third-party email account instead of iCloud. You can go into Settings > Passwords & Accounts and choose your third-party email that you may be using. Inside would be a switch to sync Contacts with their service. If you think that may have been what was happening, it's possible you can access their web portal to see if the missing information is there.
I hope this helps you retrieve the information from your Contacts cards!"
