My computer was working absolutely fine this morning but when I went to open it a few hours ago the screen was completely black except for the spinning rainbow cursor. I'm still able to get Facebook notifications in the to right corner.
I tried turning off the laptop by holding down the fingerprint scanner next to the touch bar but that didn't do anything.
Is there another way to turn the laptop off and on again? What should I do?

Try invoking force-quit by hitting the three keys simultaneously.
Wow, I don't know what else to recommend. The remedies discussed here to invoke the escape button sound like they won't work.

Sorry, perhaps someone else has a good suggestion. I think it's time to visit an Apple Store or Authorized Apple Service Center.
I can't use the apple menu or force quit because the screen is black and I can't use the external power button because the touch bar mac books don't have one.
It didn't work. I don't think the touch bar is responding.
