HomePod as a speakerphone for iPad

Does anyone know if it’s possible to route the sound of an iPad FaceTime call to a HomePod in the same way that you can with an iPhone call?

When I try to change the audio option in the call, the only choice is “speaker”, ie the iPad’s internal speaker.

I’m using an iPad Pro running iOS 12.2.
