Keynote 9.0 (6194) Update Breaks Presentation with Pop-up Slides

Had exactly the same frustrating problem today presenting to real live delegates on a course....arrgghh. I have now managed to, quite easily, go into my time machine backups and found Keynote 8.3 from the 28th March, pre the update and restored that version and it works again fine. I have also been in and stopped auto updates in my App store.

This https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT209152 describes how to do it if you haven't before but it is quite easy but be patient when you are waiting for it to restore. I hope this helps you guys.

I also just upgraded to keynote 9.0 (6194) and ran a presentation that worked perfectly the day before the update. Now today, every time I advanced a slide, about 30 seconds later, it bounces back to the first slide in the deck. When I click, it takes me to the slide after where I had just been. Complete disaster presenting to a class today. Any workaround?

I am seeing this problem as well, haven't figured out the timing, but yeah, the display is actually going back to the previous slide in my case after about 30 seconds. :( I am using Object Pop as my transition and the problem only started occurring after the update to Keynote 9.0.

Hi Florian. Thanks for your input. I have asked Apple care to help me today and they also suggested to downgrade to the previous version of keynote which is 8.3 (5989) until apple launch a new version. Problem was solved with a backup from time machine fo the keynote. Now I am able to present any Keynote file without any problem.

Same happened to me. I'll have next week full of presentations and this distraction is very annoying. Is there solution to go back to previous version?

I downgraded to 8.x and the problem disappeared. Fortunately I found the old app on a backup. Does anyone know where to get the fresh installer? maybe 8.3?

Well, I deleted the 9.0 version and copied the 8.x app from my backup in the application folder. That's it. I was able to continue with my work without any problems up to now.

I had the same issue. I restarted my computer and it now doesn't produce the same issue. Crossing fingers!

Same problem here.

It seems to be a Keynote 9.0-problem. As long, as they don't offer a bugfix I would not recommend to install this update.

And – did it help? I restarted my Mac several times and it didn't help ... :-(
