MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early 2015) GPU Upgrade

I would like to upgrade the GPU inside my MacBook Pro in order to play games. I have a 3,1 GHz Intel Core i7 CPU and 16 GB RAM.

The new GPU must be compatible with Boot Camp.

Is it possible?

What are the possibile options?

How much does it cost to have it replaced?

If not possible, can you suggest me any suitable external GPU?

MacBook Pro 13", macOS 10.14

GPU are replaced by replacing the logic board— Apple policy is to reinstall the original equipment the Mac shipped with, no upgrade there.

The solutions would be to upgrade— or eGPU compatible

Mac models, which have Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) ports:

  • iMac Pro
  • iMac models from 2017
  • Mac mini (2018)
  • MacBook Pro models from 2016 or later
  • MacBook Air (Retina, 13-inch, 2018)

If your Mac is Thunderbolt 3-equipped you can use a eGPU.

Use an external graphics processor with your Mac https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT208544

Use Blackmagic eGPU with your Mac https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT208897

eGPUs rely on the VRAM installed on the card, not the system RAM. It's your software that relies on system RAM.
