Apple Watch Heart Rate Monitor

Hi. My Apple Watch stops recording my heart rate after a few minutes of running. As soon as I stop running, it picks it up again. Then I continue running and again the same thing. Sometimes it stops measuring for 4-5 mins and then starts monitoring again without me needing to stop running. My watch strap is always tight. I have a Series 4. I used my wife’s Series 3 on my right hand and my Series 4 on the left. The Series 3 measured consistently while the Series 4 stopped measuring a few times during my run. I turned off the high & low heart rate notifications thinking this could be the issue but I still get this problem.

Could it be a hardware issue?

Interesting. It clearly is working. But for some reason it didn’t pick up those 8 minutes. It could be a number of reasons but I would only able guess to why it didn’t record. The Watch could have moved off your wrist. But for some reason you seem to have two readings on each minutes, which would suggest you have two Watches on at the same time. Are both your Watch’s connected to the iPhone? Or share Apple ID?
