Hi,

im looking to upgrade my Apple Music to family. Do I need to cancel my individual subscription first?

No. See the instructions on how to change the subscription in: Manage your Apple Music subscription - Apple Support

No. Your Individual subscription is automatically replaced with the Family membership when you select it in the Apple Music subscription screen. Follow the Steps here: Manage your Apple Music subscription - Apple Support
