If I have Apple Music account and cancel it to join a family one, do I lose my playlists?

If you cancel it before you join the family plan, yes you will lose your playlists. Instead, just join the family group and your individual subscription will be automatically cancelled and your music library will be retained. See the footnote in the 'First, set up Family Sharing' section of:
