Does SIRI really need the Internet?

Does SIRI really need the Internet? I am sure SIRI worked with my 4G cell phone and NO internet.

No, Siri has always needed an internet connection since the day she was born.

On iPhone you can connect to the Internet in 2 ways

Via Wi-Fi
Via cellular data

I think it will work now. I had just upgraded (with problems) to latest iOS and I think it turned off USE CELLULAR DATA. I'll know tomorrow when I'm driving.

You can test it now, just put it in Airplane mode.

Just turned off WiFi and all is OK using T-Mobile.
