iPhone 6s No Text Message Image Preview on Lock Screen

Howdy,

I just got a new (to me) iPhone 6s, switching from my trusty SE. Whenever someone sends me a text/iMessage with a photo, I do not see the image preview on my lock screen, as I used to on my SE. Anybody know how to fix, or is this just how it is now?

The attached images illustrate what it should look like on my Mom's SE, vs what it looks like on my 6s.

How can somebody send a text on my phone as if I sent it As I was reading my daughters text message a text message appeared as if I had typed it, backspaced it and removed it and then sent my daughter a text explaining what had occurred, how could this occur?

iPhone 12 text messaging display When texting the screen switches into this weird set up. See screenshot below.. pretty much the only way to get out of it is to reboot the phone. it happens almost every day since I’ve gotten the new iphone 12.. any insight on how to fix this would be amazing! Thanks in advance!
