My Mac keeps freezing on startup

I upgraded to MojaveOS about 2 months ago but now my Mac keeps freezing on start-up. The mouse pointer freezes on the user options page. When restart again I get stuck on this screen:

I'd very much appreciate your help if anyone knows what is happening here. Thank you.

IMac freezing after a couple of minutes Over the past couple of days my IMAC has started to freeze after a few minutes - mouse and keyboard unresponsive. Have to switch off and re-boot constantly. Have tried re-installing Mojave to no effect. (Version 10.14.6. ) Have a new Mouse - no change. Any other suggestions? Have never had a problem before.
