Mac mini LG Ultrafine - screen flickers

I have the Mac mini and the LG Ultrafine (27"). Every 30 mins or so the screen goes black for a 2 or 3 seconds then comes back. I was hoping that the latest Mojave update would have fixed this issue. But the issues remains. Does anybody know a way to fix this. It seems to me to be software related, as a restart will sometimes clear the issue for a while.

It is irritating to spend so much money, only to have it virtually unusable.

I am running Mac mini (2018) 3.2 Ghz, 32 GB RAM running Mojave 10.14.4

Thanks for any help or insight.

You don’t say how the display is connected to the Mac Mini?

If it is HDMI to HDMI, then I would first try a different or better HDMI cable.

Or... optionally, depending on what other inputs the display has? I would switch it to a more stable connection like USB-C to Display Port or USB-C to USB-C.
