Kernel Panic after upgrading to 10.14.4

I recently updated two 2013 Mac Pros to 10.14.4 and immediately they started having kernel panics after about five minutes. It even happens in recovery mode. I eventually swapped hard drives with another Mac Pro that hadn't been upgraded, and it seems to run stable there. The hard drive without 10.14.4 seems to be running fine in the machine that was panicking. Currently I've at least got one machine up and going, but it's frustrating. Anyone else ran into this problem?

The panic I'm getting can be seen at this Github gist. It seems to always be a different process, and sometimes the panic message is slightly different, but it always seems to be some form the NMIPI for Unresponsive Processor panic.

I have swapped my 64GBs of aftermarket RAM with the same amount of OEM Apple RAM borrowed from another Mac Pro. So far so good after 24 hours.

I have also upgraded to 10.4.6, but I am more inclined to believe that it is the OEM RAM that is making things more stable. It would make sense that Apple tests their OS with mostly stock hardware, and some odd bug fell through the cracks and is hitting systems with aftermarket RAM/SSD.

I will circle back if anything changes. By the way, the donor Mac Pro is currently running El Capitan with my original aftermarket RAM, no issues to report.

Same here, restored (via time machine, which conveniently shows the os version in the backup list) to .13 and no problems since, except for the annoying nags to update my machine.

I've reached out to apple support on twitter but they have stopped responding to me. I pointed them to this thread, they don't show any indication that they've reported this issue to development or that they have any plan.

I'm very disappointed in Apple support on this issue.

Wise words. For those wanting to walk on the wild side, my Pro was as solid as pre 10.14.4 with 10.14.6 beta 2 today. So my trend was 20 crashes a day to 0. I know this is useless since there's no acknowledgement from Apple or mention of a fix in the release notes, but for those of you that have no copies of 10.14.3, this could be a temporary solution at least.

Guys, Since updating to 10.14.6 B2, I have had NO crashes on my Mac Pro. I have 64GB of OWC RAM, and I used to have them all the time. It worked for a bit to run Onyx maintenance, and if I let the startup process at login for 5 minutes, it usually wouldn’t crash, but now I can log straight in, I run Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, Office, iTunes, Chrome, etc. - all at the same time, without a hick-up...

I know people are still reverting to 10.14.3, but you do not need to. I think Apple got it fixed...

Upgraded Mac Pro from 10.14.4 to 10.14.6 a week ago. Since then has worked just as expected with no Panics. This is good as 10.14.4 was causing multiple failures.

And today after deciding Mac was stable swapped out the Apple 256GB SSD with a 1TB SSD. Ran with the OWC Aura Pro X2 1TB SSD. So far excellent and can recommend as a way to both storage.

To check firmware versions, use:

 menu > About this Mac > (system report) ...

The opening page there has the "Boot ROM version"

Panics like yours in CPU Power Management routine is where many Hardware problems show themselves, but is not an actual indication of power problems.

Unresponsive Processor is a complex multi-Processor and interrupt problem, sometimes including the GPU(s) as Processors.

No panics and im on 14.5 i was on 14.6 beta but they were still there so i actually reformatted and made a OSX sierra bootable thumb drive and installed sierra and then upgraded from sierra to Mojave and they all went away have not had one since in 3 days. However after downgrading to sierra there were no panics until i updated to one of there more recent security updates then they came back. So at that point i was like the heck with this minus well go back to Mojave and now they are gone. Im confused more than anything. But happy at the same time
