iPhone unable to connect to xfinity hotspots

My husband and I recently switched from Android to iPhone. I have an iPhone 6s on iOS 12.2, my husband has an iPhone 8 on iOS 12.1.4. We can both connect to our regular home WiFi networks, but neither of us can connect to our xfinity hotspot. Our xfinity account shows that we only have 3 of an available 20 devices enabled for the hotspot, those all three being our previous Android phones. We downloaded the xfinity app installed the wireless profile. Per xfinity’s suggestions we have force restarted our phones, toggles airplane mode on and off, toggled WiFi off and on, and reset network settings. It doesn’t even ask us for the password, just says ‘unable to join’.
