Can't add Capital One Card to Apple Pay

I recently switched from Sprint to Verizon and got a new iPhoneXR with Verizon. I previously had an iPhoneXR with Sprint that I returned. I had Apple Pay with numerous cards set up on my previous phone, which I erased all content from. I set up Apple Pay on my new phone, and was able to successfully add all cards except for Capital One. When I try to add that card, I get an error message " Card Not Added - Contact your card issuer for more information". I contacted Capital One and was told that there is nothing they can do on their end, and that this issue is a known issue with ApplePay.


I've attempted a few things listed below, that have not worked...


  • Turned off Passcode. Opened Apple Wallet, and set Passcode back up.
  • Soft reset.
  • Entered card details both manually, and by photo.

Same issue here. Had Capital One set up in Apple Pay on old iPhone6, upgraded to XR and get the same error message as above “Card Not Added - Contact your card issuer for more information". I contacted Capital One and was told that there is nothing they can do on their end, and that this issue is a known issue with ApplePay.


Followed all the steps, reset, delete card, etc still no luck and again Capital One says its a device issue.


HOW CAN THIS BE FIXED?!?!?!?!?!?!?
