How to disable headphone remote buttons

have seen this posted before but never with a meaningful answer.

Well i think I’ve cracked it! There seems to be a simple way to temporarily disable the remote without messing about with sellotape or spending money on headphones without a remote.

Works with my iPhone 7 using lighting earbuds and Sony headphones with lightning to 3.5mm adaptor. Might work on others so give it a try.

While plugging in the lightning connector hold down the middle remote button that pauses the music.

Keep the button held down and use the volume up and down switches on the iPhone.

Once the volume overlay has gone release the middle button on the remote and with a stroke of luck your remote will do nothing.
