Automatic Dark Mode at Sunset

Ever since the Mojave update, my computer has been automatically switching to Dark Mode at sunset and I have to manually switch it back. How do I stop this from happening every day? It isn't something that I wanted or deliberately set up -- it began happening automatically with the update. I don't want to have to turn it back to light mode manually every evening. I never want to see Dark Mode again.

hi i believe this may be happening because you have f.lux (or a similar display color/lighting manager) installed & it has been automatically set (within "Color Effects") to "OS X Dark theme at sunset". see the attached screenshot – one can just select the item to disable it & restore your expected daily lighting :) hope this helps

Since no one else has access to this computer and I didn't know what the Automator WAS until I found that article, so I certainly didn't set it up, I would be interested to know how it got set up as well. Like I said -- it started after a software update, and I wouldn't have known how to set this up until I found that article a few minutes ago and worked backward. If anyone else has this problem or it becomes a known problem, I'd be interested to know. It was VERY obnoxious.

Well good computing on your part.

This is the one and only instance I have heard of or seen in the Apple Support Communiities across the board concerning your issue.

Yes, thank you, I can google.

I found http://osxdaily.com/2018/11/15/automatic-dark-mode-macos-schedule/ this site and managed to go into the Automator. It looks like an application which I did NOT set was automatically toggling light and dark modes and needed to be deleted. I will report back if that doesn't help by tomorrow, but I did in fact ask the question I meant to ask and did not need a generic Mac page to fix it.

Thanks for the attempts to help. Best.

Independent of your google skills—

Hard for me to see what app or automater action you may or may not have set. I think the good news is we were able to whittle it down, slice by slice.

From the macOS side of things— it is not baked into System Preferences.

So I would be very curious how this got set up without user interaction.
