Google Chrome keeps opening after quitting. Help!

For the past 2 days Google Chrome keeps opening after I quit. It will not close. I've tried force quit, restarting my computer, reseting Chrome, and none of these have worked. I've checked out Safe Mode and this issue does not happen. But as soon as I go back to regular mode Chrome automatically opens and I can't get it to quit. Also, when using google search it automatically redirects me to Bing. Anyone else have this issue and what can I do to rectify this? It's getting beyond frustrating. Oh and I'm operating on macOS Mojave if that helps for solving this issue.

This is a form of Browser Hijacking. Install Malwarebytes, then follow instructions.

No problem, you just have to be careful what you download. There is a lot of malware floating around. If you do download from unknown sources or even reputable sources Malwarebytes is a good app to keep around and run.

Do you have in the Login Items?

Some applications have a habit of adding themselves to the Login Items.

Hi - I'm getting exactly the same problem. When searching though I get Bing or Yahoo randomly - even when I click back it immediately returns to the search engine... I have then tried to quit but it just restarts, tried resetting, changed default to safari, can't uninstall until I've quit!! Hopefully someone can help?

This has to be an issue with Google Chrome as I've checked everywhere on my computer and there is nothing suspicious to say it's something otherwise. Is there anyone out there that has a resolve for this problem. Thus far all my searching and inquiries have come up with nothing. UGH!!

The issue is not with my logic board. I can't remove google as it won't close out. Unless there's another way to remove it where I don't have to close it out.

It did not solve the issue for me. Chrome still keeps reopening even after Malwarebytes scan and restart.

It could be possible that some form of debris or water could have gotten in. If this is a case maybe find someone that can replace or fix the logic board, or go straight for apple for the same thing. In settings you can set your main browser, but I do not know where to find it since I'm using a Windows laptop. You could try re-downloading google chrome, or re-download the software for the computer.

When does Chrome open? When you first start the computer or after quitting Chrome during normal operation?
