update need to be accepted on account page

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities. I understand the apps aren't updated because of a message stating they can't be accepted.

When you go to the account page on your Mac (open the App Store app then tap on your email on the bottom left-hand side), it should list your purchases. An 'Accept' button will be next to the apps that need to be accepted in order to updated with the Mac.

I contacted support. The solution, when no 'Accept' option is available, is to drag the app to the trash and reinstall the app. It worked.

I've been having the same issue. On the account page, there is no accept button. Still just an Update button. Clicking it gives me the same error message.

Remember when the Mac Slogan used to be "It just works?" What ever happened to that?

"To update this app, you need to accept it on the Account page in the App Store." There is no Accept option anywhere on the App Store screen that lists my software. The answer to this question steps don't work because there is no option to "Accept" Keynote or Pages. Incredibly frustrating. Been using MACS for15 years and never run into this before. This is a NEW IMAC 21.5 Retina 4K 2019 that I purchased yesterday.

Having the same issue as others - I'm on the Account page, but the Accept button does not appear. Only the Update button, which, when clicked, says I must Accept from the Account page. The solution offered does not work.

I've tried all of the above based on recommendations here and with online support. Emptied trash after deleting the Pages and Numbers apps but update still remains with the same message, therefore I cannot download the app again as it thinks I still need to update it. Tried signing out and restarting with no success. Any suggestions welcome!

I'm having the same problem with my new MacBook Pro 2019 model. The "accept" button did pop up upon using the laptop for the first time when I came across this issue, which I then clicked the button and nothing has happened. The apps still won't update and that error message still pops up.

THere's no "Accept" button or option on my account page.

Delete the apps then re-download from Store->My Account, the accept button never showed up for me.

It worked. I deleted Pages and all of the sudden Keynote decided to allow the update. I then downloaded Page again and now everyone's happy. Thanks for the suggestion.
