Click your name in the bottom left corner of the App Store. Are these apps among the Purchased for you to accept into your App Store account?
If not, delete each app and download it from its page in the App Store.

If the apps aren't showing up in the Purchased apps in your account, this is the standard work around. The apps are all free, this gets you licensed copies that have your Apple ID embedded in the DNA of the apps that are downloaded so that you don't have issues with future updates.
Would I really have to delete Pages and Numbers, reload them just to get the updates? Sounds not quite right to me.
