Mirroring my Mac to Apple TV

I would like to mirror my Mac to Apple TV to watch a workshop from Safari. When I do this, I notice that the Apple TV does not go into screen saver mode. So I am concerned that there could be a potential problem with playing the video for two or more hours. Is there a way around this? I would love to be able to view the video on the large screen rather than from the Mac.
