Is Time Machine Editor a safe app? I'm thinking of using it to schedule my Time Machine backups instead of using Time Machine backing up every hour.
Thanks for your input. I use Carbon Copy Cloner and have an external backup bootable disk of High Sierra. I also do have all the data I want to save on a couple of other external backup disks, so I'm all set there. I may take your advice and forgot about the Time Machine Editor and just backup with Time Machine once a week.

It seems "every hour" is a euphemism for periodic;
personally I plug my TM in once a week—no issues.
No matter what you should have other backup independent of TM
