What if my iPhone XS Max got wet? Isn’t it supposed to be waterproof?

isnt the XS Max waterproof? The Apple website says the one year warranty doesn’t cover water damage? What’s up with that?

It is water resistant, not waterproof. And yes, as stated in the terms of the warranty, water damage voids the warranty. No phone manufacturer offering IP67 & 68 rated devices covers water damage, other than a couple of small companies offering fully “ruggadized” phones.

Splash, water, and dust resistance are not permanent conditions and resistance might decrease as a result of normal wear. Do not attempt to charge a wet iPhone; refer to the user guide for cleaning and drying instructions. Liquid damage not covered under warranty.“
