Hello Boywithkix,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities! I understand that you're unable to send an iMessage or make a call with FaceTime between your iPhone and your girlfriend's iPhone. You've come to the right place for help.
Let's start by making sure your phone number is set up for use with iMessage and FaceTime on both devices:
Add or remove your phone number in Messages or FaceTime - Apple Support
If you're using your Apple ID instead of your phone number for either service, go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive. Confirm that the Apple ID is selected under the 'You can receive iMessages to and reply from' section. Then go to Settings > FaceTime, ensure you're signed in with your Apple ID and that there is a check next to the Apple ID under the 'You can be reached by FaceTime at' section. You'll want to be sure to check these settings on both of your devices.
If either iPhone is not able to activate iMessage or FaceTime, try the suggestions here:
If you get an error when trying to activate iMessage or FaceTime - Apple Support
If you're still unable to send and receive iMessages, or use FaceTime, some additional questions that would be helpful to answer are:
- Does iMessage and FaceTime work with other contacts on both of your devices?
- Do you get an error when sending a message on either device?
- When you look at the contact card for each other in your Contacts app, is the FaceTime icon grayed out? If not, what color is it?
Cheers!
