Depending on the vintage MacBook and its present macOS system, the

HP Printers compatible article may or not be on target. The one offered

already posted, is 'non-english' ~ and is for system macOS Mojave 10.14.

Both your link and this one are for Printers Compatible / Mojave 10.14:

HP Laser Jet, HP PageWide - Printers compatible w/ macOS Mojave 10.14 - hp support

https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c06141321

From HP support site:

For an older HP LaserJet printer, the driver for 10.14 might be available in

Apple Software Update or it might not be supported.

Check the list of Older HP printers with MacOS drivers in Apple Software Update.

For driver and support information for an older macOS X operating system,

go to one of the following support documents:

[..Hopefully linked directions may apply to circumstances of first-party involved..]

depends upon which system you have installed but most are very similar. Go to system preferences. Find it top left corner use the mouse. Go to printers and scanners pane then select the + button. If your printer does not show up, I'm assuming you connected it somehow to the Mac then go to the manufacturer web site under support then download drivers for the software for that printer. Install it then precede with the initial information I sent.
