Steps do not reset.

I had the apple watch series 2, and after two years it would not reset my steps, calories, or standing hours over night. I then bought the apple watch series 3 in hopes this would fix the problem, but after 5 days my new watch started to do the same thing. Any ideas to what could be wrong?
