Why such INSANELY long lockout periods for iPad?
Just read an article on line about a guy whose 3-year-old repeatedly tried to log into his iPad. Now he's locked out for 25,536,000 minutes... or about 50 years.
This strikes me as insane (and inane). I can understand limiting the ability of someone to just enter millions of passcodes - but why not a more sane interval - like an hour? If a person had one opportunity per hour to enter the right passcode, it would still take someone trying to crack the code over 500 years to have a 0.01% chance of guessing the right code. Conversely, in a case like the one I've mentioned, instead of essentially bricking the iPad, the owner could be operational again in an hour.
So why the insanely long lock-out period?
