That's the digital age for you. You may have to go for the account recovery option which can take some time. I see lots of posts where people have lost or disconnected their trusted devices and to me it is kind of like only having a single key to your house. You can even use a simple landline as a trusted device, though of course who has one of those these days? (I do!)
