It's not clear to me whether your Mac continues to be affected by "Cucumberhead" or if it is something that you are repeatedly deceived into installing. Avoiding adware is a simple matter of learning how to recognize its appearance.
On the other hand if your Mac has already been affected by it, keep reading. Removing it is also simple but it requires examining the contents of certain folders on your Mac to identify the specific files and folders that need to be removed.
Specifically, these:
~/Library/LaunchAgents
/Library/LaunchDaemons
/Library/LaunchAgents
---
You inadvertently installed adware. You do not need to download or install anything to fix it.
Navigate to the following folder, and post its contents in a screenshot.
~/Library/LaunchAgents
To open that folder, copy the entire line above and paste it in the Finder's Go menu > Go to Folder... field. Make it look like this:
Take a screenshot showing all that folder's contents, and post it in a reply. To take a screenshot read the Appendix in the following User Tip: Writing an effective Apple Support Communities question.
Usually, there is nothing in that folder so don't be surprised to find it empty. The reason for starting with that folder is to eliminate other potential causes before proceeding with steps that will identify and eradicate whatever is affecting that Mac.
There will be additional instructions to follow and this is just the first step. If you are interested in "reading ahead" so that you can determine ahead of time how you will remove it, this Discussion illustrates the general roadmap you'll be following.
Review your Gatekeeper settings also: OS X : About Gatekeeper - Apple Support. Gatekeeper is designed to help prevent you from inadvertently installing garbage software.

Sometimes that is all that's required to render the adware inactive.
You can drag everything in your screenshot to the Trash with the exception of the two Adobe files and (perhaps) the two "pronto" files. If they were installed in conjunction with a scam product that goes by the name "Pronto Video Converter" then they are also adware remnants and should be removed.
Thank you John
e
I did check the Launch folder in library and binned all Cucumberhead references. The screenprint attached shows what's left.
I had checked things like Preferences, Application support etc ... but never the Launch Agents !
That may be the solution to my post.
Thanks again
Thank you Dialabrain
Basically I always follow the DOs and DON'Ts as per the link you sent. I will make doubly sure that I do adhere to those guidelines.
I have checked my Security and Privacy preferences and that looks in order. My Aplications update download is on manual.
Thanks for promt reply.
Shall do, thank you.
Hello and thank you for your help.
