Moving app to Launchpad

HI,

A net search has not produced an easy answer to this:- I have an app on my desktop and I want to move it to Launchpad. How do I do this ? My OS is the latest version of Monterey. Thanks.

See if putting the app in the Applications folder shows it in Launchpad.

Put app in launcher I want to move an app from the Applications folder to the Launchpad. It doesn't go there automatically. The Help menu tells me that to move an app to the Launchpad, I just have to drag it to the Applications folder. But it's already in the Applictions folder. When I try to drag it out, so i can drag it back in, it just converts to an alias.
