I purchased a song, mp3, from iTunes and modified to a mp4a to use as a ring tone on my iPhone. I'd also like to listen to the whole song, however for some reason the song reverts to the mp4a version and only plays 30 seconds. Does anyone know how can I revert back to the song to its original mp3 file so I can the full length. I rang apple today and they couldn't help me! M

I'll take a guess. Once you modified to mp4 then the SAVE was only the modified version. You should have taken that mp3 and saved it to another media then modified the mp3 to mp4 on the file you did not save.
See Create and manage ringtones in iTunes - Apple Community. Perhaps you've neglected to reset the start and stop times of the original file after making your ringtone.
