"Paste in Place", a function almost every other program has

Where is it, in Pages?

I'm not looking for a work-around, or fix, I just want to know does Pages have this feature?

Not paste without formatting, not paste in line with text.

How to copy an element, and paste it into the same position on another page?

This is the question.

Thank you!

Pages is not any other program, and no, there is no copy and paste to an exact, identical location on another page — not using any version of Pages from '09 through v8.0.

Hi Bryan,

'Paste in place' occurs by default in a Page Layout document.

In a Word Processing document, all pasted objects are positioned by a click of the pointer, are placed in the text stream ("Move with text"), and have text wrap set to Automatic..

Barry

Edit after reading Peter's reply above: The object I pasted into a wp document (a shape), initially behaved as I've described. After setting it to "Stay on Page," making it a floating object, I copied it, then pasted to the next page.

Despite having the insertion point in the text and close to the top of this page, the shape pasted to about the centre of the page, the same location in which I had placed the original, and had copied it from after changing it from inline to floating.
