How do I easily move a file to a folder within a folder

I've never figured out how to shift files into folders that are sitting high up above (or below) the file I want to move. It's a royal pain dragging it (or them) way up the page, as there seems to be no simple way for it to zoom up, it kinda starts and stops, and I know there is a simpler way to do this. Thanks

You open both folders in separate windows and drag the files, or copy the files to the clipboard, go to the other folder, and press the Option, Command, and V keys.
