malware

Specifically, I have Mac Auto Fixer on my mac and don't know how to get rid of it. I want to get rid of it and prevent future malware as well. I automatically update all Mac OS Mojave upgrades - do I need to do anything else? Suggestions?

Download/Install the free Malwarebytes for Mac, and run it to see what malware it discovers, and if there is any it can remove for you. This is a 14-day, full trial, realtime malwareware checking tool, that you can continue to use after its trial period is over. There is an optional subscription to restore the realtime malware checking feature.

Most of the web articles on removing Mac AutoFixer want you to click green buttons and install yet another so-called "cleaner" product that may also be infected with malware. Don't go there.

Many of use use and recommend Malwarebytes.
