I tried to use my iPhone 6s otter box on my iPhone 8, but people cannot hear me.

The above. Is on my mind. I don’t want to buy a new otter box, and looking at otter box with 8 inside, I cannot see the Otter covering the lower microphone, ie one at home end.

Try it without the case. If it works OK, then you know that you need a new case.
