Since StraightTalk will not support a Cellular Apple Watch, if you got a Cellular model, it would only cost you the extra $100 for the cellular model that you would then use as a GPS only model.

If you switch cell carriers to one that does support the Apple Watch Cellular model, then it would cost you the extra $100 for the cellular model, Plus about $10 per month to add the Apple Watch to your iPhone cellular plan.

So how badly do you need to leave your iPhone behind and still have a network connection on your Apple Watch? Remember, if you do have your iPhone with you, you get all the benefits for no extra costs.

If you have your iPhone nearby the GPS version does "Everything" the cellular model does.

The only benefit of the cellular model is that you can leave your iPhone behind while you go for a run, bike ride, swim, etc...

And even then the GPS model will track your exercise, and can play stored music and podcasts on the Apple Watch. The GPS is just communications limited when it cannot find your iPhone.

And from what I can find StraightTalk does NOT support the Apple Watch cellular model. You can use the GPS only model as it only cares about your iPhone and your iPhone deals with the wireless carrier.
