Reply to Messages on Apple Watch - are suggested replies added intelligently?

I'm using an Apple Watch (series 1) for the first time. A friend who upgraded to a series 4 gave me hers. It's more interesting than I thought it would be.

Today when driving back from shopping she sent me a Message and asked, "Will you be home soonish?"

While driving I (safely) wanted to send a reply and was surprised to see the first suggestions was, "I will be home soonish." I sent that.

Does WatchOS analyze the grammar of received messages to suggest appropriate quick responses? Or was that a coincidence? If so, that's cool.

I found this.

Messages on the Apple Watch makes use of "smart replies," which are words or phrases tailored to a specific conversation. That is to say, it's smartenough to have a general sense of what your conversation is about and suggest replies in addition to the default list.
