Deleted voicemails keeping coming back

After I delete my voicemails they keep coming back. I have to call my service provider and get them to delete my voicemail. This has all occurred after I got the new update from Apple recently. Software version 12.2 . Everything was fine before the update. It has to be the update or am I wrong? I saw where someone was saying go into Airplane mode and delete them, well if you go into Airplane Mode you can't even see the voicemail because you're not connected to the network anymore. I've never had an issue like this ever before with an iphone. I have a iphone Xs Max. Everything is working fine except the voicemail problem.
