Battery design capacity 60-70% after 1.5 years
Hi,
I have a macbook pro for 1.5 years (non touch bar). However, my macbook pro's battery's (13inches non-touchbar) design capacity readings fluctuates between 60-75% of its original capacity. Moreover, most of the time it gives the 'Service Battery' warning. I assume the problems that I mentioned above are not typical problems with a battery having only a cycle count of 227. Comparing with my wife's macbook pro (13 inches - touchbar) which has a solid design capacity of 93% after 1.5 years, mine's poor performance is quite disappointing.
I tried apple service a couple of times during the warranty period, but they could not find any problems. Now its warranty is over and the situation is degrading. I know apple has battery replacement program for this model of mine, but my computer appears to be not eligible.
If Apple would ask my professional opinion (they won't), I would say that one or more cell blocks are faulty, and this was probably a manufacturing issue. But it's very disappointing to see a new MBP has same troubles with a crappy Lenovo notebook I had before.
