I bought a car that has no Bluetooth. It has an aux port. I bought 2 different brands of aux cables, one in fact fm the istore shop near me (made by belkin), but neither worked! My car recognises the aux cable, but my phone doesn’t. I’m at a loss!

Look for a cable that is MFi (Made For iPhone) certified. It should work.

I believe the MFi program only applies to lightning cables.

phone didn’t give a msg. It simply did not recognise the cable.
My question is: does Apple do an aux cable themselves? They don’t seem to sell them in their istore shops. How do I then connect my phone to the aux port in the car?

What does that mean? What happens when you plug the cable into the phone and the Aux jack, set your audio system to "AUX" and try to play music?
