Cannot Delete Files

I was told by Sophos that the folder containing these items had a virus ...

I managed to move them to the Trash but cannot delete them ...

And I do not know of they do have a Virus, or where to return them to if they do not?...

What can I do please?

Thanks,

MacBook Pro 15", macOS 10.14

... in the end I booted the MacBook as a Firewire device.

Accessed the MacBooks HD over Thunderbolt from my iMac

Went to the Users account on my MacBookHD, used the HIDE/SHOW App to show invisibles, using BATCHMOD I reset the permissions for .Trash and deleted .Trash.

#WORKED! :-)

I suggest you use the program created by Etresoft, a frequent contributor.  It will provide a snapshot of your system which we can analyze to possibly determine the cause of your problem. Please use copy and paste as screen shots can be hard to read. On the screen with Options, please open Options and check the bottom 2 boxes before running. Click “Share Report” button in the toolbar, select “Copy to Clipboard” and then paste into a reply. This will show what is running on your computer. No personal information is shown.

Thanks Allan,

I did a safe boot and they still would not delete.

I did a recovery boot and fixed permissions with disk utilities and they still would not delete.

I reinstalled OSX Mojave and rebooted and they still would not delete.

I rebooted in another admin users account and deleted this users .trash folder, then booted back in the user and deleted the full others admin users account, and cannot as the files in that admin users trash will not delete :-O
