Is iPhone XS silver colour prone to scratches

I have a silver iPhone XS purchased few months back, the problem is it has got some scratches which I’ve no idea how it happened despite putting it inside the case all the time. Recently bought a white Apple silicone case for my iPhone now no scratches are reported before while putting it in other company’s case it used to get scratched up quite a bit.

iPhone stainless steel scratches I’m aware the silver stainless steel on the pro lineups scratch super easily. Iv seen numerous people fix that by using a steel polish. It seems to work iv tired it too. However, I’m afraid if I do this too many times that it will damage my phone, because you are actually removing a thin layer of the metal every time you rub it on a surface.
