Overwrite folder with the same name from 1 external hdd to 2nd externel hdd. Folders contain LOGIC PRO X projrects how to get them back sorted to folders not to files ?

Hello , of course I did it. I have 2 external harddrives which I strated transfering one folder with many of my LOGIC PRO X projects. I did not copy from 1 to 2nd HDD , I did , pressing cmd+move to 2nd HDD the folder. But after 1.34 GB I stoped. The full size of the folder was 110 GB . So I grab the main folder and put it back and clicked REPLACE, unfortunately. So I used one program DISK DRILL which is making bootable USB and doing deep scan. I found all my inforamtion and restored it BUT . This program restore all my files separetly to folders with Aiff, WAV, MP3 names . So if you know about LOGIC PRO X project you will know that there is so many files inside the project folder . SO I can not make them together back as they were .

I had some project that they were archived and they are perfeclty fine. But I can not put it together many of them becuase all files are in different folders :( . So my simple question is , is it any way to RECOVER my folders as they were as separetly projects with the names ?

Hello BURLAKDJ,

Thank you for using the Apple Support Communities. If I understand your post correctly, you're finding that the package files for Logic Pro X do not seem to contain the individual files like they did previously; is that right?

Also, to confirm, these were stored on an external hard drive rather than your internal drive, correct?

While there may not be a way to undo what happened after using that third-party app, the resources below may be useful to you. You may be able to use this to re-create your projects as described here:

Logic Pro X: Consolidate assets in a project

Logic Pro X: Manage project assets

If you find this doesn't clear things up, that's when you may want to get in touch with Apple directly: Contact Apple Support

Cheers!

Hi thanks for the answer . I already find that this is not possible . But I found also that this accident, REPLACEING folder and losing files is one of the most biggest problem to all people 90% of the people who is searching for recovery softwares they did the same mistake . I think ( my opinion ) APPLE MUST FIX THIS . Replacing folder must NOT skip the TRASH . So people will have second change to do undo put it back all files . This is really unprofessional and big mistake that the OS SYSTEM doing . They can do research and will find that most of the accidents are the same as mine . If there is any chance sending this feedback will be amazing . Thank you anyway for the answer. All best .

Hi I know all about back ups . This is my first time making mistake like this in my live using computers since 22 years . This is accident, the information it wasn’t on my Mac ssd, it was in one of my 11 external HDDs trying to transfer from one to another . That’s why I said : “ Command REPLACE must not skip the trash ! “ so we will have second changes to get them back . I can not have 22 external HDD so I can do for each HDD back up . Sometimes is not like that . And I am sending all the time feedbacks when I found some mistakes . But Apple is waiting 1000000 people to say the same what I am saying so than they can pay attention . Doesn’t mean any sense for me to send them any feedback, they are not listening . I like the products I will never stoped using them , but they can improved 36% more my opinion. Especially with LOGIC PRO X !!!
