Macbook 10.6.8 upgrade

Hello! I have a problem! I have a mid 2010 macbook 13'' and I wanted to upgrade from the 10.6.8 version to a newer one. I downloaded it from the appstore and it crashed. Couldnt install the update and now I am stuck with an installer and all of my data marked as "other" in the disk utility.

You could try 'Safe mode' start up to see if that helps the Mac and may repair

some aspects of the system in hard drive. Other things aside, try this more than

once; because unless it starts in Safe, it won't be able to check or effect change.
