I am writing a paper and want to use the definition of a word I looked up in the Dictionary.app built into my Mac mini. How do I cite this app in APA? I found out how to cite a mobile app, but dictionary app is built into computers and uses the "New Oxford American Dictionary (Second Edition)". I don't know where to begin. Google has been no help at all nor has Citation Machine.
I would appreciate any help!

Yes, that is it. If you wish you can add the qualification that it was obtained using the app on your computer. The best source is a real printed dictionary, but your source accesses a real dictionary, does it not? The general rule is cite the real source if the real source is cited. Otherwise, cite the computer source, like a URL or built-in software.
Been doing this a long time. That is what I learned when it came to helping my students learn how to cite non-standard sources such as Internet sources. However, if you are required to follow a specific citation standard, then look to how the standard tells you. APA provides a Manual of Style just for this purpose.
That's it? What about medium? Contributors? Is the title going to be "New Oxford American Dictionary (Second Edition)" or "Dictionary.app"? Sorry for all the questions!
