Suspicious Phone Call

Received a phone call from ****-6940 which is Durham, NC. A electronic recording told me that my iCloud account has suspicious activity and that I need to call toll-Free but gave me a 516.344.1156 number to call. Is this a legitimate apple call or some kind of scam. They said I could press 1 to be connected. I did none of these things, instead I have come to this site to find out if this is a scam or actually Apple looking out for me.
